The Purple Network is local trades doing reactive maintenance on commercial sites near them: care homes, shops, pubs, offices, schools, warehouses. Most jobs are a single visit. Attend, fix, photograph, done.
The sign-up on our site asks for a name and an email and nothing else. We call you back and go through the rest on the phone. That keeps the form short, but it means the criteria are not on the form. So here they are.
Reliable trades who turn up and finish the job
Sole traders and small firms both work here. What matters is that a client can put you in front of their staff, their residents or their customers without thinking about it.
That is the whole test. A care home manager has to be comfortable with you walking past residents. A shop manager has to be comfortable with you working around customers. If you turn up when you said, do the job, clean up and leave, you are who we are looking for.
What we check before your first job
Insurance, in date and in your name. We check it before your first job, and we will ask again when it is due to renew.
The certifications your trade needs. Whatever your work is legally certified under, current and evidenced. We check accreditations and skills the same way.
A patch you are happy to cover. Tell us the area you will travel to. Jobs are matched by distance, so the work we send you stays near you.
A phone and ten minutes of paperwork. A risk assessment on arrival and before-and-after photos on completion. That evidence is what gets a job signed off, so it is what gets you paid.
None of this is unusual. It is what a client is entitled to ask of anyone working on their estate, and we ask it once so that they do not have to ask on every job.
The trades we place
Electrical. Plumbing and heating. Gas. Fabric and building. Locks and doors. Grounds.
Not on the list? Tell us anyway. The network grows with the jobs coming in.
How a job reaches you
A job comes to you. We offer it to trades near the site. You see the address, the scope and the deadline before you accept, so you know what you are taking on.
You do the work. Attend, fix, capture the risk assessment and the photos. If it turns out bigger than the scope, tell us before it grows, not after.
We handle the client end. Site contact, access, reporting and sign-off are ours. You are not chasing a facilities manager for a purchase order.
You get paid on the agreed terms. Payment terms are set out up front and stuck to. No renegotiating after the job, no chasing us for an update.
Reactive first, project work as it comes
Two kinds of work come through Purple, and we are open about which one we need people for today.
Reactive is the steady one. Call-outs and repairs, offered by distance, with out-of-hours work where you want it and none where you do not.
Project work is the step up. Refurbishment and fit-out packages on the same kind of buildings, with longer runs, booked further ahead and planned around a site that is still trading. Those packages tend to go first to the trades who have already proved themselves on reactive jobs.
What happens next
Put your name and email on the join the network form and we will call you. We go through your trade, your patch and your paperwork then. If you would rather talk than type, call 01226 970158 and you will get through to a person.
